Euro 2012 Betting: Semi-finals correct score prediction

26 Jun

It is difficult to split to teams like Germany and Spain in the Euro 2012 betting as both are trading at an identical EVS to win the tournament. This is not surprising as Spain are the reigning champions whilst Germany have been irresistable in the last two years. A clash between those two teams is what everyone is expected.

I have tipped Germany to win and also a Spain – Germany final at 7/1 so I did expected to see this scenario in the semi-finals. Jogi Low’s men have confirmed pre-season expectations: they looked by far the most

complete team and I don’t see how they can be sent home without the throphy. They are very well balanced and with the core Bayern Munich boys who are performing at top level in every department. Philipp Lahm at the back and Mario Gomez upfront will be frightening. Italy did well against England and will test Germany but Prandelli’s men will have to expect a very different match from the one played on Sunday. England should have pressed more the Italians who were that impressive during Group C. Germany at EVS is a very tempting bet. After seeing the brillant performance on Andrea Pirlo in the quarter final, Germany will press him as soon as he will get the ball and I can imagine he will have the same impact he had few days ago. I think Germany have what it takes to win 2-0 on the night and the 8/1 offered for this correct score is very tempting. In the other semi-final spain will take on Portugal. It is not surprising to see Portugal at the semi-final stage. I did predict that they could have been the dark horse and have done very well since the first match against Germany.

All the tips on Spain v Portugal

Cristiano Ronaldo has also managed to hit top form just at the right time and has hogged the headlines with three goals. He is most definately the most important man in the squad but we cannot forget that Paulo Bento can also count on Nani, Pepe and Coentrao who are top players. The more I look at this match the more I get convinced that a surprise in on cards. Spain haven’t been convincing in this tournament and the indecision about who is going to play upfront is average.

Their back four is average and if Ronaldo will be on a good day can really leave a mark in this match. Portgual were able to beat Spain 4-0 at the back of last year in a friendly game and although I don’t envisage such thing to happen again, I think that Portugal could well spring a shock. Spain defeated France in style but the French didn’t had a good night so we shouldn’t read too much into that. I think the correct score bet for this match is 1-1 at 6/1.
