Betting News: Why AVB is so over-valued?

12 Jul

I may be a complete idiot but I don’t really see on what ground Andre Villas-Boas is considered to be a top manager. Is he better than Harry Redknapp? Time will tell but even before he was appointed as Chelsea manager I though that he should have had at least another 5 years in smaller clubs to make some real experience. Very enough he did an excellent job at Porto but also Mircea Lucescu has done well with Shakthar Donetsk yet he has never been considered as the next Manchester United manager.

What he has done at Chelsea is the perfect prove that the man is not ready to manage a team like Tottenham: he left a team in disarray who than managed to win the Champions League for the first time in their history. Pathetic. At his first press conference as Tottenham manager, he rejected the opportunity to play down expectations even tough he will lose Luka Modric in the transfer market. This is another signal that he is not experienced as you should look at your squad objectively without setting false expectations.

A small improvement in comparison with last year was that he said that he will be keen to building on the work of his predecessor. He said that he wants to put Tottenham on the road for the titles and that the believe was there. Where? Punters don’t see it this way and odds for Spurs to win the title are at 38.0 and are expected to increase even further as soon as Luka Modric will officially go. To replace him they will probably buy Porto midfielder Joao Moutinho which is a good player but surely he is not going to be able to take the squad to the level needed to compete for the title.

AVB is keen to retaining Emmanuel Adebayor upfront and he has no interest in Andy Carroll who is moving out from Anfield. At the end of press conference he also tried to claim credit for performing the groundwork for Chelsea’s Champions League success. Again Pathetic.

Tottenham are also going to sell Rafael van der Vaart as the player is not in the Portuguese’s plans. I would like to see those plans but the main reason should be that the Dutchman lacks the tactical discipline and he is not a good fit for the new manager. He may move to Schalke but the main problem is that the Germans are unwilling to pay the sums demanded by Spurs so there may be some time before this issue is finally resolved.

Looking at the odds Tottenham to finish in the top four is at 2.86: in my opinion this is extraordinary short and I suggest you to rush on a betting exchange and lay that price before he will get bigger!
