As in every season there has been a lot of movement in the transfer market with the big teams who have put their hands in their pockets and enriched the Premier league with a series of good players who should leave a mark in the new campaign. Chelsea managed to sign Brazilian 20 years old Oscar with the huge price tag of £25 million. The player has enjoyed a successful Olympics and will take Didier Drogba’s shirt however it may take some time before they can be as useful as the big Ivorian player. His career has been very promising so far and one of his personal highlights is the hat-trick in the FIFA under 20 World Cup final against Portugal.
The second player to watch with particular attention is Shinji Kagawa from Manchester United. Kagawa have had a fantastic season with Borussia Dortmund and has contributed to his side winning the title for the second time in a row. Despite being injured for a few games he has been able to net 13 league goals and three cup goals proving one of the most influential player is. Manchester United are 10/11 to start the new campaign with a win at Everton and Kagawa will be surely in the starting 11 at GoodisonPark.
Tottenham Hotspur made a lot of changes during the summer with the highest profile signing being Jan Vertonghen. The Belgian is a left footed player who is equally comfortable at left back or as a defensive left-sided midfielder. He has also been very influential with his own attacking ability at Ajax. The 25 years old won the award of 2011-12 Eredivisie Player of the Year and helped his team to win the second title in a row with eight goals in 31 league games. It might take some time for him to get used to the Premier league but he should be a valid asset for Spurs.
Arsenal have finally made a very good signing with Santi Cazorla from Malaga for a free that is believed to be below £15 million. The 27 years old is one of the regulars in the Spanish national team with 45 appearances since his debut in 2008. The can play on either wing and in the past he was at the centre of the polemics by refusing to sign for Real Madrid when he was at Villareal. Can he help Arsenal to win the best of the rest without the two Manchester clubs. They are 3/1 to do just that.
