Premier League Review: Chelsea are sparkling

Many pundits did question Roman Abramovich’s motivation once Chelsea won the Champions League by the Russian owner proved that he is still keen to bring more trophy to Stamford Bridge and kept their wallet open allowing Roberto Di Matteo to buy a series of top players like Hazard and Oscar. The Russian oligarch has managed to put £80 million on the plate this summer proving that winning the European was just the start for him. He is continuing to buy new players and Saturday morning they have also confirmed the arrival of Victor Moses for £9 million after a summer long pursuit of Wigan’s talented youngster.

The Most Exciting Signings of The Premier League 2012-13

As in every season there has been a lot of movement in the transfer market with the big teams who have put their hands in their pockets and enriched the Premier league with a series of good players who should leave a mark in the new campaign. Chelsea managed to sign Brazilian 20 years old Oscar with the huge price tag of £25 million. The player has enjoyed a successful Olympics and will take Didier Drogba’s shirt however it may take some time before they can be as useful as the big Ivorian player. His career has been very promising so far and one of his personal highlights is the hat-trick in the FIFA under 20 World Cup final against Portugal.

League Cup Betting Tips: First Round

This season starts early and we kick off with the League Cup first round. The Premier League clubs may not enter until the later on but there are still some big names taking part already including Leeds United, Wolves and Middlesbrough. The first round of the domestic leagues have been put back a week to allow for the Olympics to finish, but with few of this matches taking place around Olympic events travel shouldn’t be an issue.

Rangers v East Fife betting preview

Rangers really do start their new life as they have to cope with life outside of the SPL. The Glasgow based club was kicked out of Scotland’s top division due to financial irregularities by the SPL and will begin this season in Scotland lowest tier of football the Third Division.  They have managed to keep old of their manager Ally McCoist who will look to rebuild this once famous old club and will begin in the League cup against Second Division East Fife.

Manchester City in for Higuain as RVP Stalls

Manchester city were given a boost on Tuesday when it was revealed that Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain has given the green light to his private advisers to go ahead and initiate talks with Manchester city over a £30 million transfer that would see him join his fellow Argentinians Tevez and Aguero at Manchester city. The Madrid striker has been a dominant force alongside Ronaldo in La Liga has proven to Roberto Mancini that is able to join the squad full of high-quality players and compete at the top level and deal with the squad rotation that inevitably happens at the worlds best clubs with Benzema and Higuain often rotating.

Manchester United Debt Burden Weighing Heavy on Fans

Manchester United have been owned by their American paymasters the Glazer’s for a good few years now and in that time there’s been a lot of dissent from a good section of the dedicated Manchester United fans mainly over the level of debt that has been placed onto the club in order to finance the purchase of the club for the American owners. The interest on the debt has been questioned and been seen by many fans as a burden that has been borne by the club in order for the owners to actually afford to buy the club in the first place. Of course this is how a lot of business works and is a credit to the way the club is being run that they can afford to service this debt and still make money and grow the business.

Manchester City must spend big to have a chance this season

There is an old saying in football that as soon as you stand still, you start to go backwards. Roberto Mancini said exactly that today and tried to pass the message to the fans and the club that last season was won at the last minute and that they haven’t got a huge gap to defend: they hardly have a gap at all if you considered the stream of disgruntled fans walking out early because they tough that Man City would have blown the title in the match against QPR. Roberto Mancini have the right experience to understand that if winning is difficult, defending titles is much more complicated than that.

Liverpool FC New Philosophy Revealed by Rodgers

new Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has been receiving a lot of good press in the last few weeks mainly from the players have enjoyed working with him in the early parts of the pre season tour of the United States of America. It is easy to see why he’s gaining the respect of the players if you listen to the reasons why they are praising him and the owners have recently received a fresh taste and reminder of why they hired the young manager with the presentation of a near 200 page document outlining the strategy of what he will try and do the take Liverpool to the next level and into the bracket competing with Manchester United and Manchester city.
